This week, New York City residents are encouraged to go cold turkey and ditch the plastic and paper bags while shopping. That’s right, it’s #BYOBag – time to remember those reusable bags you have sitting around and put them to good use. You know, the ones sitting in your back seat that you remember when you’re already in the checkout line?
Several city council members are working to get a bill passed that would require retail and grocery stores to charge at least 10 cents per bag used. You can learn more about the movement here and the bill here.
