freezes seeds of water
beside berries
that failed to fall
or be eaten.

dragonfly ascending.

dissolve.
The spaces beyond us
dissolve.

White deer cluster
on the far side
of Presque Isle.

    v.

We create words—breeze,
zephyr, sirocco, gale to describe
our pleasure
and fear.

    vi.

Somewhere, a bell
or a bowl
humming.
