Submission Guidelines

We are always open to submissions of poetry, prose, and visual art that explore questions of nature
and spirituality from within and outside all religious traditions. We are delighted by innovative, original,
thoughtful art that reflects our values of community, respect, inclusivity, and curiosity. We look forward
to reading and seeing your work!

Please allow 2-3 months while we review your submission.
We do not accept previously published work.
We accept simultaneous submissions. Please notify us promptly if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Reviews

We welcome reviews of chapbooks and full-length collections of all genres (essays, poetry
and prose) that intersect with ecological and theological concerns.
Reviews can be any length, but we are particularly interested in the breadth and depth offered by 1000-
1500wds.
At the top of your review list: BOOK TITLE, AUTHOR’S NAME, PRESS, PUBLICATION DATE and
your name.
In your cover letter, include a brief bio.
For poetry reviews, follow these general poetry citation guidelines. The review editor is happy to work
collaboratively with you on formatting and edits, but when citing poetry please make sure you faithfully
copy the text as it originally appears and double-check for errors and typos in your quotations. Aim for
two to three excerpts of more than three lines in your review.
In terms of review content, we are interested in how you read the work of the book you are reviewing.
What are the text’s concerns? How does it make them visible? Does the text present itself/its argument
via sound, image, form, logic? Who is the text’s ideal audience?
You can pitch a review directly to the editor at [email protected], or request a list of books we
would like to see reviewed.
