Anne Babson's latest collection Messiah wrestles with theology in American landscapes. Her first and second books, The White Trash Pantheon and Polite Occasions garnered praise and prizes. The opera for which she wrote the libretto, Lotus Lives, has been performed in New York, Boston and Montreal. Her first play, Reenactment, which explores gun culture in the South, was published a year ago by Review Americana. She lives in New Orleans and teaches at Southeastern Louisiana University.
