Of her favorite place, Lynn writes: "Every day, I gaze out at Lake Superior, the largest body of fresh water in the world. It is ferocious, and it is pristinely calm, deeply, deeply blue and pale with fog. I know that every year someone drowns along its shore, and yet I feel awed rather than afraid of its power. Its magnitude assures me that all shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well."
