Lobster Boat Freed

Well, Jay O’Hara and Ken Ward’s trial day came and went. The district attorney was “sympathetic to the defandants’ point of view on climate change” as the New York Times reports. 1 Notables like Bill McKibben were ready to testify on behalf of the two.

Anna Barnett interviewed Jay O’Hara in this thoughtful article for The EcoTheo Review in the weeks leading up the the trial. Jay speaks thoughtfully about how his Quaker roots brought him to this act of civil disobedience, and how his act – and others like them – are part of a radical Quaker tradition.
