Prodigal Daughter

No dream nor waking spirit prevents / my tendency to wander / my tendency to run with pride / my vanity / my tres-passes / my debts / what I owe I say / nothing & forgive me for believing / that / owing / I owe you / nothing / these prodigal habits (spoiling strawberries/buying airbnbs) / forgive me / this drifting / the car / into a body of water / rolling it in with both hands / rolling myself in / I’m sorry / for seeking something new / for losing ground under my feet / for entering the deep / pushing you / out of reach / of my waking life / forgive me, my inner weasel / the headless snake / I’m crowning myself with / forgive me / this dreaming / forgive me this / not begging / fixing my hair and making toast instead / letting the spiders live / in the corner / where I swept / I destroyed / I didn’t mean to / ruin this / one cobweb / my tendency to care not / to do not / forgive me
