Payton H. Stantis

Payton H. Stantis is an Alabama writer, editor, river rat, and mom whose work has won awards in creative nonfiction and memoir. She serves as Vice President and docent for Friends of Turkey Creek Nature Preserve and works with the Alabama Rivers Alliance. She lives in central Alabama with her family, two wild mutts, a flock of chickens and ducks, and one tarantula. When she isn't writing, you can find her reading, baking, hiking, or paddling Alabama’s extensive, beautiful waterways with her crew.
